I'm cross-posting this thread from the Cavalier Talk Forum, just in case there are any Cavvie nuts on here who might be able to help or know someone who could. The thread concerns a poor little Tri girl found wandering on Merseyside and taken to the RSPCA centre at Halewood. www.cavaliertalk.com/forums/showt....ed=1#post374033In spite of attempts to get her released to a rescue foster home, the RSPCA are adamant that she can only go to a permanent adopter. PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AND SEE IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO TO HELP GET HER OUT OF THE COLD AND INTO A NICE WARM HOME FOR XMAS

We have been trying to get this girl out since Thursday but there are three potential adopters due to visit her this afternoon so the RSPCA would rather get the £175 adoption fee for her. We have offered a foster space for her and they have said that they will consider that if she isn't homed today.

What a bummer, isn't it? Sorry about the link - it worked OK when I tested it, but am trying again now www.cavaliertalk.com/forums/showthread.php?36315-tri-girl-in-merseysideSounds like there has been grrreat progress with this girl, thanks to so many people taking a lot of trouble behind the scenes. Fingers crossed that one of the three potential adopters will be lucky and we shall soon have some good news

just read this girls story via the link. i think it`s terrible what the rspca are doing - esp at this time of the year when money is very tight for alot of families, you`d think they would jump at the chance for their dogs to go on to fosterers!! with the benefits of the fosterer being able to get a bit more info on the dogs personality to help ensure it goes to the right forever home, and also so their kennels are not crammed. i cant even come up with the adoption fee before xmas, but could do after xmas. just a shame that she has to spend time in kennels, sounds like she`s not happy being in there. xx

Have just heard on Cavalier Talk that this little girl is still languishing in the RSPCA kennel at Halewood, Merseyside. I know Chris was trying to help earlier, but they won't release to foster care, only to a permanent adopter. Can anyone help at all? It's still so cold for a Cavalier in a concrete kennel - my heart is breaking for her

Unfortunately she is still there. We had someone go over there this afternoon to try and adopt her but she was told that she was too old so we have someone else going on Tuesday.

Oh gawd, this is just so awful I keep coming back to this thread time and time again in the hope that the RSPCA have done the decent thing. So horrible to think of that poor girl still stuck in there, she must be so frightened . If only we lived closer. Thanks for all your efforts in trying to get her out - I hope she makes it to a warm sofa and loving arms soon xx

Unfortunately she is still there. We had someone go over there this afternoon to try and adopt her but she was told that she was too old so we have someone else going on Tuesday. I am upset to hear the first part of this, Chris, but glad to hear that you are still trying in true TLDR spirit. Will keep everything crossed for success on Tuesday. The weather forecast sounds so dire for the end of the week. Why on earth are the RSPCA being so intransigent in this case? They seem to keep changing the goal posts each time anyone tries to adopt this little dog.

My fingers are crossed for this little one. Why on earth would they say someone was too old?

There are charities like TLDR and those that call themselves charities. I wonder how this would have gone, if they were the subject of one of their tv programmes.

I think "quiet diplomacy" should be given a chance first! Let's wait and see what happens on Tuesday at least. Wouldn't want to make anyone dig in their heels so deep they couldn't get out

hi, ive found the forum at last ive been visiting this little one since i spotted her a week last tuesday . shes a sweet sweet girl . but doesnt like being in there . ive asked them to come check me to foster but they refuse to let anyone but staff foster their dogs how old was the person who visited for goodness sake . they reckon shes 3 or 4 years but she looks older . possibly as she has dry eye which make her eyes seem opaque ... she needs drops in regular and has chronic otitis in her ears , but this looks better each timei see her . i have a 15 yr old ailing cat or would have her in a shot but it wouldnt be fair . i will help with transport or anything though if needed , im 10 mins away from there x

yes , theyre using viscotears i think they said. thats the cheaper option i believe i think theres a better option thats more expensive but keeps them more comfortable. the ears, they fill with wax or discharge as soon as theyve been cleaned , but they are looking better now. she needs a good bath and groom and wouild make a lovely pet, but needs someone there all day x i have managed!! to get the pics on the facebook group - i hope thats ok ??

such a sad situation. I know there's sooooooooooooooooooo many dogs in the same position as this little one but when her story is here in black and white and she has a name and you build a picture it's just so awful... I just don't understand this age thing! surely the person who went to adopt her wasn't 102 for Gods sake......poor little girl... my heart goes out to her...
Im going to have a look at the pictures you posted xxxx

She looks about seven, like my boys, to me. I wonder if someone is looking for her, as if not spayed she could have been stolen to breed from.

Rubysmum, nice to see you here (I am a member of cavaliertalk too, jacies) and thank you so much for visiting this poor little girl and trying to help. She looks so sad and that kennel looks disgusting. Does anyone know if the applicant to adopt her went today and what happened? Maybe they were too young. Have the feeling they are deliberately blocking anyone getting her out for some reason.
