Ollie, JRT X, DOB 07-08
Homing Requirements: Ollie needs a dog savvy home who respect the terrier energy and attitude and aren't looking for a soft-toy! Very trainable terrier who enjoys the quest. Needs regular grooming. Not for very young children though should be fine with older children who respect his space. Ollie would enjoy canine company. Not for small furries or cats.
His Story: Ollie's owner rescued him 2 years ago at the age of 18 months. She has recently moved in with her son, 3 year old granddaughter and their Staffie. "On Wednesday morning he was sleeping on the sofa next to me and my granddaughter decided to lay her body over him. He reacted and ended up biting her on the nose, just breaking the skin on her nostril". The child is now frightened of him and her son wants him out of the house. He is moving in with the owner's sister as a temporary situation until we are able to find a suitable home with no/or older aware children, who can respect his space. Neutered and 1st vax'd.
Advert: Ollie has recently moved home, to live with a very young child and a Staffie. He has coped well but an incident/accident occurred (as above). He is now in a temporary home whilst we find him the right home. May previously have lived outside with other dogs. He was very skinny and dirty when found stray. He used to pee in the house but is now house trained. He likes his quiet moments and can be a bit grumpy if he doesn't want to be disturbed, hence the reason for rehoming.
Ollie is a delight. He is no longer possessive with food or items and they can be taken from his mouth without problems. He will chase a ball and is energetic and playful. He is quick to learn and can do sit/lie down with food as a reward. Ollie would make a great agility dog as he is very playful and full of energy. "He will walk off the lead and stop when I say 'wait' and will come back to my whistle". Doesn't like cats and can be dominant with some dogs, although not all. He plays nicely with other dogs. He is the terrier who needs kept in his place and saved from the stress of being in command!
