all TLDR members I wondered if anyone else has seen Ming and Emma on DBARC (Diana Brimblecombe Animal Resue Centre Hurst Berkshire) It is so sad as their owner died and they were sent there to find new homes Emma is elderley and Ming has some health problems that is why I think they are being overlooked I hope you dont mind me writing this on here but I thought there might be someone somewhere who may fall in love with them

;D How sad for these two little darlings. Unfortunately many people are having to tighten their belts though and will worry about taking on a dog with medical problems due to the expensive on-going treatments required. Such a shame. Fingers crossed that someone will feel able to give these two the loving home they've been used to before their owner died.

deb407 It was so nice of you to respond to this item I agree that it is prob because Ming has health problems and Emma is an older golden girl is the reason why they have not been rehomed yet Thanks again

Someone usually can help, eventually, but, perhaps, one problem is the lack of timescale on the website. It says that the owner died recently, so doesn't give the impression that the dogs have been waiting a long time.

Barbara Many thanks for you comments If you click on the Ming and Emma blog just under their photos it has the history on them and their two brothers (who were luckily rehomed together through dbarc after quite a few months ) Their owner passed away just after Christmas 2011 Thanks again barbara

Aww, just seen this - I daren't look before, and wish I hadn't now, I wanna give 'em ALL a home with me!! Trouble is, my son has gone and got himself a summer job in a pub down Cornwall and left me here with 3 dogs on me own, Sandy STILL isn't totally toilet trained, and neither is Molly in the wet weather - I open the back door for 'wee wees time' and the pair of them race upstairs and wee/poo on the landing! Gggrrr, I tried a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs but they just piddle in the hallway if it's raining. I have to have carpets as Finn the greyhound can't walk on lino. Hence my house is covered with small machine washable rugs.
Otherwise, I'd offer Ming and Emma a home here like a shot, but really couldn't cope right now. Sorry.
I hope they find a nice new home together ASAP poor babies.

Joly just refuses to go out and Teddy does what your two do, quite often. They have also marked and ruined the breen wool carpets, which retain the stain. Joly was castrated at Christmas and stopped immediately. Teddy was done, this Wednesday, so fingers crossed.

Not sure this is a good thing living out the rest of their days in kennel surly separating them and finding them a nice indoor retirement home would have been kinder. Just my opinion

Or even finding a lifetime foster home with financial support for any medical needs.
Must admit I'd hate to think of an oldie living out its days in kennels, and then what happens to the Ming when Emma dies? That's a lot of years not living in a home which affects house-training amongst other things.
Have to say I agree with Laylah. I know sometimes there are no options, but keeping them available for homing means there's still a chance, especially if the rescue offered to pick up some of the vet bills XX
ETA: Emma is beautiful...she's my kind of oldie XX

From their 'blog' it sounds quite cosy, not just a small kennel with bare concrete flooring as I imagined. So maybe they will after all have a lovely life there - do agree though that it would still be nicer if they could find a forever home instead though, wonder if dbarc are keeping that option open? If someone offered them a home, would dbarc say no sorry you can't have them?

;D That's so sad, living the rest of their lives in cages. I know they'll get fed and walked, but don't they deserve more than that..... a real home where they are the centre of somebody's universe? If I could afford the vet's bills I'd take them just to spare them that .

all your feelings about the Ming and Emma update The girls have been at dbarc since Feb this year after the passing of their former owner just after xmas 2011 I would imagine if someone was to permanent foster them dbarc would help costs (but they would have to confirm this) It breaks my heart that no one has wanted them because of their health problems and poss because of Emmas age But I know dbarc will do their best to make their all weather compound very comfy and homely If any of you may decide you would like to home them you could contact dbarc direct once again
