I got this message today from a friend who knows I am in contact with a couple of people who foster so she thought I might be able to help.. This is her message as it appears on my phone........
Hi Hazel, I am trying to find a loving home for a very loving labrador retriever, shes been spayed, fully injected and tagged. She was left with my auntie when her neighbour left the dog behind on their house move. She's a lovely red colour and 6 years old, she gets on with cats and other dogs but unfortuntely my aunt has skin cancer and is now in a wheelchair and cannot look after her anymore. She needs a family, I am gutted I cannot take her as she really is so lovely but I just dont have the room. I do have pics but on my camera and not my phone. She is free to a loving home.
I know this is a genuine call for help but am worried about the FREE bit as there are unscrupulous people who will just take this dog because she is free. Is there anyone on here who can help this dog?? Edited....I have just found out the dogs name is RUBY.

I hope somebody can help, send messages to admin or dopeonarope or give them a ring to see if they know of anyone.

It might be worth contacting LRRSE who specialise in rehoming Labradors and retrievers.
Maybe Chris would have the contact details??

Thanks guys....I have messaged my friend and advised that any prospective new owner be asked to give a donation to an animal rescue (in the form of a cheque written out to the rescue but given to my friend so she, and me, will know its been done) because I believe an animal that has been paid for will be wanted rather than one thats just been taken cos its free. I have also offered to go with her to homecheck the possible new home.
